LEON Bet NZ Privacy and Data Protection
Most people open a privacy policy with two questions: is my data safe, and can I get rid of it? This page answers both first, then explains the rest of what LEON Bet NZ does with personal information. One boundary comes first: the information site you are reading collects no account or payment data and runs no analytics. The data covered below is handled by LEON's services once you follow a link to the platform and sign up or play there. We hold player data to run accounts, verify identities and stop fraud — not to resell it — and we follow New Zealand's Privacy Act 2020, including the Information Privacy Principles (IPPs), as the standard for this policy.
Your data is controlled by Jade Reef Ventures Corp., the company that operates LEON. It is registered in Belize under number 42967 and holds Anjouan (Union of Comoros) licence ALSI-202410001-FI1.
Encryption and Account Access Controls
Everything you send to LEON Bet — sign-in details, documents, payment instructions — travels over an SSL-encrypted connection. Passwords never sit in the database in readable form: only a cryptographic hash of each one is kept, and technical and operational controls limit who can reach stored sensitive data. Access to an account is tied to the person who registered it: accounts are personal, may not be shared or transferred, and a payment method must be in the account holder's name. To catch misuse, we log every change made to an account, look for accounts that are linked to each other, and monitor unusually large transactions. A withdrawal can be held while we run security checks, and automated betting programs are banned.
You control the other half of account security. Choose a password that is unique to LEON Bet, protect the email inbox linked to your account, and never pass on a confirmation code. If you notice activity you do not recognise, change your password and tell support at once.

Reasons for Processing
Most of this information is required: without it we cannot open an account, take a deposit or pay out. Some is required because the law and our licence say so — identity checks, checks on where funds come from, and the records anti-money-laundering rules oblige us to keep. Some serves fraud prevention: spotting linked accounts, bots and players trying to bypass country restrictions with a VPN or proxy. Money you deposit must be your own and legally obtained, so we may also check where funds in an account come from, and suspicious transfers can be reported to the relevant authorities.
Only one use is optional: marketing. Registering signs you up for newsletters and bonus news by email and SMS, and you can turn them off whenever you like in your account settings. Saying no to marketing changes nothing about your account or the service messages you receive.
The Information Privacy Principles also shape how collection works. We gather information for a lawful purpose connected with the service (IPP 1), mostly directly from you rather than from other sources (IPP 2), and this page is how we tell you what is collected and why (IPP 3).
Service Providers and Authorities
LEON Bet does not sell personal information. A limited group receives the part of it they need:
- Our payment agent, Chessmate Limited (Reg. No. HE 461012, Cyprus), and the payment provider you pick for each transaction.
- Verification and anti-fraud services that check documents and flag suspicious activity.
- Game studios, which need session data to run games and settle results.
- The regulator and law enforcement, if we report fraud; they may inspect the account data concerned.
- Anjouan Gaming and eCOGRA, when a complaint is escalated or goes to alternative dispute resolution.
International Transfers Under IPP 12
Because the operator is based in Belize, its licence is issued in Anjouan and its payment agent sits in Cyprus, your information is processed outside New Zealand. IPP 12 sets the rule for that: information may only go to an overseas recipient that will protect it with safeguards comparable to those under New Zealand law, unless another ground permitted by the principle applies. Each transfer is limited to the recipients listed above and to what they need. You can ask us at any time where a particular type of your data is processed.
Requesting Access, Correction or Deletion
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold (IPP 6), to correct anything inaccurate (IPP 7), to delete information, or to stop marketing. To make a request:
- write to [email protected] from the email address linked to your account;
- name the request — access, correction or deletion — and add your account number;
- be ready to prove your identity, because we will not release or change data until we know the request comes from you.
Marketing can also be switched off directly in your account settings, without writing to us.
If you are unhappy with our answer, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner handles complaints under the Privacy Act 2020 and is the place to take it next.
What Deletion Means When Retention Laws Apply
Deletion is real, but it has limits that we would rather state plainly than bury. The guiding principle is that personal data stays with us only as long as its purpose requires. While your account is open we keep what is needed to run it. After you close it, identity, verification and transaction records stay for the minimum period set by anti-money-laundering law and our licence, because we may be required to produce them. Anything no rule requires us to keep, such as marketing preferences, can be removed when you ask. Once the retention period ends, the remaining records are deleted or anonymised. How long that is varies with the kind of record and the rule that applies to it; you can ask how long any specific item of your data will be held. If part of a deletion request has to wait for that reason, we tell you which part and why.
Cookies and Analytics
These information pages set no analytics, advertising or login cookies. On LEON Bet's platform, cookies keep you logged in, remember the language you chose and study traffic, and advertising cookies are used only with your consent. The Cookie Policy lists the categories and explains how to switch the optional ones off.
Under-18 Data
LEON Bet New Zealand does not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18. Identity and age checks are part of verification. If an account is found to belong to a minor, it is suspended, pending transactions are frozen, winnings and bonuses are cancelled, and deposits, less any winnings, are returned to the payment method they came from. Only the records needed to show what happened are kept. Parents and carers can help keep minors away from gambling sites with parental-control software on shared devices.
